It is a computer-based activity that supports early identification, assessment and treatment of ADHD for individuals aged between 6 - 60 years old. It objectively measures the core signs of ADHD: Hyperactivity, Impulsivity and Inattention.
The activity consists of geometric shapes, some of which the user ignores and some of which they need to click on using the space bar. The activity is different for individuals 6 - 11 years old, or 12 - 60 years old.
The QbCheck itself lasts 15-20 minutes, depending on your age, although the appointment will last between 1-2 hours. When you arrive, we will talk through several questions that correlate to the DSM-5 criteria that is used for diagnosing ADHD. We will then explain what do to in the QbCheck and set up a short practise run.
At this point, the accompanying adult (in the case of children) will leave the room, as there can be no distractions during the activity. Don't worry - they will be just across the hall.
No, a sensor tracks movement only, no images are stored.
The test is anonymised; the only data that is stored is a unique number, your age and gender. This information is necessary to be able to compare results with a norm group.
It measures your response time, activity levels and impulsivity, and automatically analyses and compares the results with those of a norm group. The norm group consists of both neurotypical individuals and those diagnosed with ADHD. Your results are compared with an adjusted norm group of the same age and gender.
